Things to do that cost little or no money while in quarantine

So many people are being quarantined from the COVID-19 virus. Most of which who probably can’t work from home. I know the struggle!! I can’t do my job from home. Meaning no income. Which is why I put together a few things to do at home that cost little to no money. Most of these will keep you busy or entertained and keep you from going stir crazy!

Read a book

Reading does so much good for the mind and soul. It’s relaxing and can let you escape reality. Right now we all need a little escape from reality!! I love a good mystery or thriller novel, especially by one of my favorite authors Ruth Ware. Here are two of her books that I really enjoyed!

Exercise

Practice yoga and connect with yourself! The best times for myself to do a flow is in the morning when I need to wake up my body, or in the evening to wind down from the day. My favorite YouTube yoga instructor is Cat Meffan. She has everything from beginner to advanced level.

Maybe try lifting “weights” or doing some dancing for a little cardio workout. Zumba is so fun and makes you sweat!! When I say “weights” I’m referring to objects in your home that are a few pounds. Cast iron pan, 2 liters of soda, wine bottles, or whatever has weight to it! Not everyone owns dumbbells! Just be creative to keep your body moving.

Play Games

Some of my favorite games to play are charades, monopoly, Uno, Sorry, the list can go on! If you own a deck of cards then you can get creative. Here are a few funny and time consuming games that are played very often in our home.

House Chores!

There is so much house stuff that can be accomplished while home during this… Let’s be real lol. Spring cleaning can be in full effect right now. Organize closets, the kitchen, bathrooms, and every single drawer in the house! My personal favorite is to rearrange furniture! This is the best way to “freshen” up your home. This is time consuming and physical so you an mark off your workout for the day!

Create recipes

Baking… something I do every single day. Which is why I have to workout as much as I do honestly! Bake up something new and creative. Those new muffins or cookies you’ve been meaning to try out. Or pop over to my Pinterest and choose something chocolaty!

Maybe create a new dinner recipe with the chicken or veggies that you have in your freezer. Trying out different meals are always uplifting and exciting.

SELF CARE

This is an obvious one. Us humans are always on the go and never take a minute to breath. Take a hot bath with your favorite bath fizz and a have a drink. Or two… Go sit outside on your porch and listen to the surrounding noises. Watch the sunrise and sunset. Hangout by your pool. Do a face mask. Paint your nails. Style your hair. Try a new makeup look. There are so many ways to relax! And in a time like this our minds need some relaxation!

Binge watch netflix shows

Finally the most common thing everyone is probably doing! Here are some good shows that can catch your attention or just be background noise.
